That is secretarial work and I used to make all of the followup appts for my patients when I was a unit secretary. I am glad he solved it, but it is interesting that the work now gets turfed to a nurse...

I must say that the secretaries are really underutilized. My spirit callout would be to look at the workflow and ask why highly paid professionals (in the case of the rn, not the resident) are doing a job like this at all..catsandmusicnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32053362.post-20141631912978276652009-06-18T11:30:15.308-04:002009-06-18T11:30:15.308-04:00Would Adam like to take my daughter to the Sox gam...Would Adam like to take my daughter to the Sox game?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32053362.post-14654584917984661812009-06-18T10:57:46.766-04:002009-06-18T10:57:46.766-04:00What a great idea. My stepdad was discharged yesterday from a hospital in CT after an overnight stay for minor back surgery. the discharge process took 6 hours from the time his surgeon told him he could go home till the time he walked out the door. With beds needing to be turned around for patients waiting for them, this is a ridiculous delay.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32053362.post-9294877371461876372009-06-18T07:27:00.298-04:002009-06-18T07:27:00.298-04:00Yay, Adam!
