Walking down Boylston Street today, right near Fenway Park, I was excited to see a big hole. It is the site of what will be the new home for Fenway Community Health.
Fenway is one of the preeminent community health centers in the country. In addition to providing excellent clinical care -- especially but certainly not exclusively to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people -- it is one of the few community health centers with a vigorous and productive research program, particularly in the area of HIV/AIDS. Fenway has outgrown its current facilities a few blocks away and hence the need for this new 100,000 square foot structure.
BIDMC is proud to be affiliated with Fenway Community Health, and we have made a major financial pledge to support its new building. They are looking for more help, though, and I urge you to consider supporting this excellent cause. To learn more about the fundraising campaign and how to help, please check this website or contact John C. Marksbury, Campaign Director, 617-927-6361, jmarksbury@fenwayhealth.org.

Hurray!
I've been going to Fenway for many years, and have happy with my care. But it's gotten really small, and it's great there will be a new building.
