Can you guess what was deleted from the top of these three signs at the Logan Airport Hilton Hotel? It used to point to the public telephones. If you look closely, you can see the shadow of the old letters.
Now look down the corridor to where they used to be:
Clearly, with virtually everyone carrying a cell phone, there is no longer a need to provide this capability to the guests.

interesting. I recently took a photo in one of the San Francisco Airport terminals of their Yoga Room. Now that is a good addition and certainly also a sign of the times! Glad to send it to you if you want.

At BNY Mellon's processing center in MA, they have a "telephone room" - a little telephone booth-like room with a door for employees to use when speaking on their cell phones at the workplace. A telephone break is equal to a regularly scheduled coffee break, with employees lining up to use "the room"....
I saw at Baltimore Washington Airport last weekend that they took out 2/3 of the pay phones, which I thought was better than taking out all of them. Of course, these were way down one end of Baggage Claim and the area was nearly empty, not sure if there are any public phones elsewhere!
