Happy New Year

Best wishes to all for a Happy New Year. My New Year's resolution is to take another week off from writing this blog. After five months of writing, several times per week, I realize that my addictive behavior extends beyond Blackberries! I am going to see if I can refrain for a few more days.

But I promise that I will be back . . . .

Paul I find your posts interesting reading. I am a studying PhD student about to enter the dissertation phase and am interested in writing about medical records either from the patient or from the physician perspective.

If possible I would like to setup a short call to discuss your perspectives on both topics.

My email address is don@mydavis.org

Great to find this blog. I would love to hear whether you will believe open source healthcare information systems will successfully compete with vendor systems due to the advantages, some referenced in the Cathedral and the Bazaar article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cathedral_and_the_Bazaar). If not what the major obstacles.

What is the truth about nurses salaries? The recent campaign regarding this makes it sound like they are making $100,000. True?

OK, the week is up. You may be dealing well with your compulsive behavior but those of us addicted to checking your blog are suffering.
