Like many of you, I enjoy checking the status of my blog on Technorati. It's fun to see how many blogs have linked to you and what they are -- and then trace them back and read posts and leave comments.
But here's the issue. Once you are discovered by the porno sites and they link to you, they clog up the entries on Technorati. This makes it difficult to sort through and find real sites that might be of interest. Is there anything you can do about that, or is that just life in the blogosphere?
Paul, I use Typepad.com, and it has NEVER been a problem. Nick
ReplyDeleteHmmm... not sure, but I think porn related internet activity is inevitable somehow. Just look at how many sexual enema people come to my blog!
ReplyDeleteI hope I can be of a little help Paul! If you didn't see it, John Dowdell (of Adobe) sent a detailed response on my blog on this question. It essentially that nothing works well right now, but that you might want to try using the "authority" setting when searching on Technorati.

Not sure either, but I'd love an answer. I have the same problem!
ReplyDeleteHeh. I've talked to other bloggers about this too, and some have no problems with it. Since I talk about public health and sexuality and whatnot on my blog, I get a lot of google traffic from people who've googled sex words and gotten my blog as a hit. Others with similar blogs have said the same. Are you getting these kinds of queries?
