. . . . the Joint Commission has arrived for our unscheduled survey. As I have noted in the past, if the Joint Commission didn't exist, we would want to invent it. It is really important to have an objective, outside review of an organization from time to time.
And, yes, we will publish our results once they go through the process of review at the Joint Commission headquarters.
Quick, turn off the lights, maybe they will think no one's home.
ReplyDeleteYikes; good luck!
ReplyDeleteJCAHO is like Predator.. they have infrared vision.
ReplyDeleteWe are ready.
ReplyDeleteBIDMC Maint.
I love how you mention JCAHO and everyone's pulse quickens.
ReplyDeleteMy department does mock surveys. So in the morning, and several times during the day over the intercom a switchboard worker goes, "We would like to welcome Joint Commission....(long pause).....Mock Survey to our Facility"
I've been in the cafeteria when it happened and everyone stops to listen like a bomb might have just gone off.
Always a kick.
Yeah, it's a kick till the real ones kick YOU - not always fairly.
ReplyDeleteKind of like which referee you draw in a game.....
The Joint Commission does make a lot of institutions nervous. Best wishes on your survey.
ReplyDeleteHow did it go?
ReplyDeleteAs promised, I will tell you when we get the official report from Chicago. In fact, we will post it on our website.
ReplyDeleteShort answer: As expected, the process was very helpful in many respects.
