Speaking of union spending, there apparently will be a TV campaign for the so-called "Employee Free Choice Act" (the one that would eliminate secret ballot elections.) An ad from this campaign, which reportedly will be on CNN and other sources, can be seen here and is explained in more detail here.
Question for Washington insiders and political reporters: Did the Obama team ask the unions to try to generate more support for this bill, or is the campaign an attempt to keep pressure on a new administration that is busy with many important issues to make the bill a legislative priority?

So, why is okay for the union to spend gazillions of dollars on advertizing and campaign messaging, and then seek concessions in the election process that would attempt to muzzle hospitals during a campaign? Seems like a bit of a double standard for me for the union to suggest that you shouldn't be spending money on campaign messaging while it can clearly outspend you in this regard on every single level - and does!
I've been following your recent posts about the antics of the union with interest. Imagine my surprise when I found you and your hospital referenced in my HR textbook yesterday.
