Jubilee presents Beautiful
Here's the latest video from the Jubilee Project. As always, when you view it, a donation will be made to a charity, in this case Becky's Fund.
In this video, it's STILL men's opinion of women which is forming and affirming women's self worth.
How is this empowering for men?
It's not. It encourages men to compartmentalize all things they like about their partners only as "beautiful." Beautiful is fine, except when it's exclusively gendered female, and precludes other positive descriptions like; smart, cool, funny, strong, determined.
If The Jubilee Project want to smash the system rife with domestic and dating violence, then it has to do a better job of demonstrating agency for women. What better place to start than language choices or showing women achieving and owning their right to self worth.
