You can convert meters/second to miles/hour by multiplying by 2.2, yielding a peak velocity of almost 100 mph. After a three-hour flight from Copenhagen, we waited four hours on the tarmac for the wind to settle down enough to safely roll up the jet bridge and disembark.

An aside for frequent fliers, catch these wind speeds yesterday at Keflavik Airport in Iceland.
