Many people replied to yesterday's offer to get a free copy of Monique Doyle Spencer's, The Courage Muscle. If you replied, a copy is on its way. If not, there are still copies left. Please submit a reply with your snail mail address, and I will extract that address from your comment and send you a copy. If you have a chance, please review yesterday's comments. I think Monique would have been happy to know that so many people would benefit from her book.
By the way, the book is available from Amazon, too, if you would like to purchase additional copies. Also, for those in Boston, it is for sale at the Windows of Hope oncology gift shop in the Shapiro Building at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Thank you for the offer of Monique's book if it's still available. My little sister lost her battle in 1999.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate your efforts.
Paul, I'm sorry to say that I had not bought this earlier. Monique was a wonderful friend and a source of inspiration as I pursued my craft as a reporter. I definitely would like a copy. Thank you (and Michael) for making this offer.

ReplyDeleteMany thanks.I'm a Paediatric Surgeon of Indian origin, now am a "proudly South African"!Work mainly in State hospitals & deal with a lot of kids with malignancies.@ home also a proud father of an 18yr son with autistic spectrum disorder. Am always keen to learn & become more humane, humble and empathetic. Would be grateful if I can have a copy.

ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to reading "The Courage Muscle." I am always looking for books to recommend when I speak. I find many people are searching for answers and appreciate a good read.
ReplyDeleteI would love a copy, if it is possible to send it to Israel. I think humor is such a powerful tool that can be used more and often than we think. In Israel, a play writer just died from cancer, and her last play was a humorous musical (!) on cancer. It is a beautiful play.
ReplyDeleteBeing in a role that supports women during their breast cancer journey I would so appreciate a copy of Monique's book. Thank you so much for sharing Monique's perspective!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a copy if still available. My sister is a breast cancer survivor and this book was very helpful to her at the time.
ReplyDeleteHi Paul! I have a dear friend in India who is going through her own fight with breast cancer. I'd love to both read and share Monique's book with her. If another copy is available, please send! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to see for potential addition to our collection (medical library) or to donate to a local consumer health library.
ReplyDeleteI would love a copy for our library here at the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support. Our services are free to anyone in our community with a cancer diagnosis or their family members. Many of the individuals that use our services are managing breast cancer.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this opportunity. Please accept my sympathies, but what a wonderful way to honor Monique.
I read this book to my partner when she was hospitalized after her first chemo. We cried with laughter. We have given away our copy to a friend with the disease; if you still have copies we'd love one.
ReplyDeleteOn its way, to all the above!
ReplyDeleteI received my book yesterday. Can't wait to dig in. We have a patient resource library at the Cancer Center that I manage and it will be a nice addition.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
