The votes are in -- Thank you!

Many, many thanks to all of you who voted for my blog in the Medgadget annual competition for best medical blog. I was very fortunate to win in two categories, Best Medical Blog and Best Health Policies/Ethics Blog. I am grateful to all who voted, but also want to express my deep appreciation for the others nominated in these categories, many of whom I read regularly. Special congratulations to all the other winners, but notably Dr. Val, and the Voice of Reason -- for Best New Medical Blog. If you haven't linked to Val's page, you really should check it out.

  4. Congratulations, Paul! Well-deserved prizes.

And you got a Kindle... I got a kick out of that! It would have made a cute joke, but I'm afraid the prize was set before they knew the winners.

  5. You deserve this recognition. CEOs blogging, particularly in the healthcare industry, is a testament of open communication and thought leadership. It's a pity so few leaders are doing it but I'm glad you're setting the course for future leaders. As a professional in social media I must say that you do it better that most.

On a different note, I found this webcast from Beth Israel New York about a new treatment for chronic pain and thought it would be something you would like to share with your readers.

Marrying social media and healthcare is genius. It provides patients and doctors an opportunity to communicate and share information, which is an invaluable opportunity. I would like to talk more about this and other topics with you in the future. Feel free to email me at ygarcia@digitalinfluencegroup.com

    Thanks

Thanks for the shout out for my blog! I think I'm one of the few docs who writes specifically for a lay/patient audience. Cheers to you!
