This Briton's got talent

We take a break from hospitals to refer you to this link on YouTube about Susan Boyle, a contestant on Britains Got Talent. It is making the rounds throughout the world. Watch it all the way through. It is heart-warming and shows the danger of prejudice and stereotyping.

She is such an inspiration. I have watched this video many times in the past few days. I have never heard such an amazing voice.

I also love that Simon finally had his socks knocked off. He looks like he has fallen in love. It also has made me more understanding of how hard his job is. He is there looking for outstanding talent. When he finally get's it, he does show his appreciation.

I think we are going to hear a lot about Susan.

My wife mentioned it, and then I saw it on a friend's Facebook page.

When I mentioned the video to my son last night, he said that it had already been viewed 8.2 million times. As Susan said after her performance, "Bloody fantastic!"

It is not so much a lesson on the dangers of stereotyping, as it is a lesson that we, humans as a whole, judge people first on outward appearances. We expect good things to come from the pretty and bad from the frumpy. It is a sad commentary that people were surprised to find an ordinary woman from an obscure village could have a powerful voice, and make such a hearfelt performance.

How wonderful! Thanks for posting this -- just fantastic. To me, her speaking voice hid her fabulous singing voice, but I admit to prejudice as well. Thanks for a beautiful post!
