Application for writ of possible simcha

A very funny pleading in court a few weeks ago, and a thoughtful ruling by Judge Kimba Wood. The full story is here.

I was very glad to see the judge's ending!

Well done; an appropriately Solomonic decision.

I have two questions:
1) Did the belly method predict correctly?
2) Is the judge Jewish? Quite kind of him to suggest a zeved bat in court!

If this isn't sad evidence of the celebration of institutional gross sexual discrimination, then I don't know what the words mean. There seems to be complete acceptance of the notion that females are inherently less valuable than males. This is something to be condemned, not praised.

Mark,

I thing the original pleading was meant to be humorous, and I also think that the judge deftly handled the point you are making, also with good humor.

That being said, there certainly has been gender bias in many religions.

Just to clarify, the judge is female, which is why her decision is so appropriate.
She was also an unsuccessful nominee for Att'y General under Clinton.

Sorry for not recognizing Judge Wood as a female. But, some people never get a joke. Bring on the simcha! Thank you Judge Wood.
