This is a blog by a former CEO of a large Boston hospital to share thoughts about negotiation theory and practice, leadership training and mentoring, and teaching.

Ahem:
1. Mr. Obama is not the patient-in-chief. Somebody I know says America needs a patient-in-chief (one who doesn't have unlimited medical care!), and Matthew Holt and KevinMD agreed so much, they cross-posted it here and here.
2. Elizabeth Cohen of CNN has a forthcoming book, "The Empowered Patient." I have a review copy, and in it she cites him telling the AMA in 2009, "That's what we do. We listen to you. We do what you tell us." Ahem. That is NOT what a patient-in-chief would model for the citizens. :-)
