Remembrance on Passover

As we begin this celebration of freedom tonight, listening to this tape can be a helpful reminder of the strength of this human instinct. This tape was discovered, I think, in the Smithsonian Museum a couple of years ago, and is of a BBC recording on April 20 1945, about 5 days after the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp by the British Army.

Blessings on this passover season.

I've not been able to quiet the voices since listening. I'm so glad someone thought to record this and that the survivors had the strength to sing at all. What else has been re-running is the narrator's observing the scene with "a thousand or two corpses" still strewn about. A thousand or two. It makes me wonder how many bodies are strewn around our precious planet, today, Earth Day.

Please keep posting things like this, Paul. Each brings us all closer together.
