A thought for the day from the world of coaching girls soccer, with thanks to a colleague at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago.
After a soccer game between two teams of seven-year-old girls:
Frustrated coach: Your heads were just not in the game! Where were they?
Player: I was thinking about princesses and puppies.

Richard Corder These thoughts may not be isolated to those playing girls soccer...
Rachel RS my favorite reffing experience was with the 5 year old team where the goalie would inevitably be making chains out of daisies or gazing at clouds.
Tanya Lane Martinez I always get a kick out of the random cartwheels throughout the games.
